Anxiety in Teens: How to Help at Home and in the Classroom

Parents and teachers around the country are seeing an increase in mental health issues – particularly anxiety – in teens and young adults. Fortunately, anxiety is one of the most manageable mental health struggles we face. Please join us virtually on Tuesday, March 22nd as Elizabeth Didlake, MA, CLC shares evidence-based practical strategies to help us help our teens. 

We will talk about:

  • why anxiety is so prevalent right now and what it looks like
  • strategies for managing anxiety symptoms
  • how to know when a student needs professional help
  • how to help a student who many not want help
  • no cost online mental health resources

Lunar New Year/ Valentine’s Lunch for Faculty

PTSA provided cuisine from Kirin Court for Faculty lunch this month.

As for Secret Teacher Treats, PTSA arranged a succulent with Barnes and Noble’s gift card in the red envelopes and sweet.

Lunar New Year Social Event

A HUGE thank you to SEM PTSA for the festive social event and treats. Thanks a bunch to StuCo and all the amazing volunteers who came to help set up and serve. It would not have been possible without each and every one of our volunteers. A heartfelt thank you to Kirin Court restaurant, which has generously sponsored 300 eggrolls and 200 sesame balls. 

The students, teachers, and staff had a blast hanging out with friends, watching the awesome lion dance performance from JK Wong Academy, and feeding the lion with the red envelopes.
